Beurre Hardy

Beurré Hardy

This is an old French cultivar. It belongs to most appreciated table cultivars of pears. It isn’t too represented among the intensive breeding because of its unappealing attribute of having a rusty cover on its skin. It gives middle large to large fruits that have a dense pear-like shape. The basic colour of the skin is fuzzily-green, and it turns into fuscous yellow, ocher colour whlile ripening.

Flash is yellow-white, middle firm, with a very nice texture, juicy, soluble, with a nobel tatry sweet taste. Cultivar is of a good quality. Trunk is lushy to very lushy, but it grows slowly. The characteristic of this cultivar is its poor ramification, so the treetop is thinly, but wide. It gives a lot of fruits. It’s resistant to scab and late spring frosts. It’s very compatible with quince, and therefore it’s commonly used as an interstem.
